Examples of our wide range of services
Bespoke Training
Scenario – Station Operatives Hazard Awareness
Staff Only Training delivers a no-nonsense Rail Infrastructure Hazard Awareness course for station operatives working face-to-face with the public. We put staff into realistic, high-risk scenarios—spotting a passenger carrying a long metal item that could breach the overhead line danger zone, managing crowds edging too close to the platform edge, or intervening when someone appears agitated or a risk to themselves or others. All of this happens in a safe, controlled environment where operatives can practice fast, confident decision-making. The result: sharper awareness, safer stations, and staff who know exactly how to respond before a hazard becomes an incident.
ASPRO Contractor
Working Adjacent to the Operational Railway
Staff Only Training delivers a focused, high-risk awareness programme for ASPRO contractors working adjacent to live railway infrastructure. We immerse teams in realistic scenarios—managing plant movements near the cess, identifying when lifting equipment risks encroaching on the overhead line zone, or recognising when temporary works or materials are creeping toward prohibited areas. All training takes place in a safe, controlled environment where contractors can practise the right actions before they ever step on site. The result: contractors who understand the risks, respect the railway, and work confidently and compliantly under ASPRO requirements.
Emergency Services
Safety Awareness On or About the Line
Staff Only Training delivers a high-intensity Rail Incident Response awareness course designed specifically for Emergency Services operating on or near the line. We place teams into realistic, high-pressure scenarios—approaching a casualty near live rails, recognising when equipment or personnel could enter the overhead line danger zone, securing a scene where a train is still moving through adjacent lines, or coordinating with rail control during an escalating incident. All of this happens in a safe, controlled environment that mirrors the complexities of a real railway emergency. The result: responders who understand the infrastructure, know the risks, and can take decisive, life-saving action without putting themselves or others in harm’s way.
Bespoke Training
Scenario – Office Based Staff Infrastructure Awareness
Staff Only Training provides a practical Rail Infrastructure Awareness course for office-based staff who need to understand the realities of the railway without completing a full PTS. Project Managers, Planners, Graduates, and Apprentices are placed into realistic scenarios—seeing how close is too close to the running line, recognising the dangers of the overhead line equipment, understanding exclusion zones, and appreciating why on-site decisions can have major safety and operational consequences. All delivered in a safe, controlled environment, this course gives non-operational staff the confidence, context, and insight to make better decisions and collaborate effectively with those working on the front line.
Bespoke Training
Scenario – Introduction to Overhead Line, Bonding and Cembre Connections
Staff Only Training delivers a hands-on introductory course to Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), bonding, and Cembre connections—designed for anyone who needs to understand the fundamentals before working around or supporting electrification projects. Learners get up close to real kit in a safe environment: identifying live vs. earthed equipment, understanding how poor bonding can create lethal return-current paths, and seeing firsthand how a Cembre connection is made—and what happens when it’s done incorrectly. This practical, no-nonsense introduction builds confidence, sharpens awareness, and gives teams the essential grounding they need before stepping anywhere near electrified infrastructure.
